CompSite was created to support late '90s textbooks published by Allyn & Bacon. It featured discussion forums where students could interact, resource collections, and tutorials related to writing and online activities. Some highlights:

The project represents a good example of a content-heavy, late '90s stand alone Web site. The opening screen leads to the major sections that provide information and resources.

In addition to offering resources, CompSite included a number of forums where students could post queries or discuss writing projects, a precursor to more extensive social networking options for writers.

CompSite also reflects a publisher-sponsored site designed to facilitate writing pedagogy. The discipline areas of the site provided insights into discipline-specific expectations and models for writers.
